How Long Does a Computer Repair Take?
Most software issues (viruses, slow performance, settings, Windows problems) are fixed the same day, often within an hour once the engineer is on-site or connected remotely. Hardware repairs (screens, batteries, hard drives) depend on parts availability, common parts are usually fitted same-day; less common parts may take a day or two to source, and we’ll always tell you the timeline before starting.
Some Of Our Previous Repairs In Portsmouth
- Portsmouth - July 2026 - We go to a customer that states computer no longer turns on and no signs of life. Our engineer checks the computer and uses equipment to test the PSU (Power Supply Unit) to find it was actually broken. We then advised the customer, bought a replacement and had it fixed same day.
- Portsmouth - March 2026 - Customer states when the computer loads it said about no operating system. Turns out Windows had caused errors through failed updates and was in a broken state. We repaired the computer by reinstalling the operating system and saving all the customers data.
- Portsmouth - September 2026 - Customer bought a new laptop as the old one was very slow. They did not want it fixed as they had bought a new one but did need it setup and all of there memories and files transferred over. Our engineer went out to the customers home, backed up all of the data and moved it to the new laptop once it was setup along with showing the customer how to use some features that were new.
- Portsmouth - June 2026 - Customer bought a new computer and unfortunately it had issues straight away and without any previous support in place they phoned us. We arranged a time that worked for the customer and sent an engineer out to them. Our engineer diagnosed the issue as a faulty CPU and offered to buy and fit a replacement within 48 hours. The customer was happy with the fix and the computer was repaired within a few days of the first call with the customer happy to be able to play games again.
Some Of Our Previous Repairs In Southampton
- Southampton - January 2026 - Customers old computer was just too slow for the new games they wanted to play. We found a few issues with the computer including a slow hard drive and limited amounts of RAM (memory). Once agreed with the customer we purchased all parts needed, fitted them into the PC, transfer the customers data and now the computer runs a lot faster with the customer able to play modern games.
- Southampton - December 2025 - This simple but common job of a customer wanting a new look. The previous case the customer has the computer in was not the right look anymore. Customer asked if we can swap the case into something that looks much nicer and has more room for future GPU upgrades. We did the work and now the customer has a lot more room to grow.
- Southampton - February - 2026 - This business customer has an important computer randomly stop working causing delays in the business doing work. We managed to send an engineer out same day to look at the issue and within 3 hours everything was back to working fine with the business stating "This was a faster turn around than we expected"
- Southampton - April 2026 - This customer could not even install Windows updates anymore as they had no more storage available but could not delete anything for more room. We found a suitable drive replacement to a faster and larger drive allowing the customer to have increased speed while having about 4 x the space to use. They now no longer have to worry about what files to keep as they have enough storage to last them years.
